Welcome!

I warmly welcome you to the website for Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

This is one of the most beautiful parish Churches in New England, but one that still so many have never heard of, not to mention seen. That's one of the reasons for this website, to allow all people to take a virtual tour of this munificent edifice and be inspired, as parishioners are, by the beauty of the Catholic faith that pervades this holy temple.

The second and more important reason for this website, though, is to make it easier for parishioners and non-parishioners alike to allow God to use them, as "living stones" (1 Pet 2:5) to build something even more resplendent. The Church is made not out of marble and wood but out of men and women, and it is of us that God wants to build a "spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 

Thanks be to God there is a lot of good happening here at this parish and the Lord wants much more to happen. I encourage you to get involved — and if you're visiting from far away, to pray for us — that the Lord may make us even more beautiful temples of the Holy Spirit than this magnificent Church built through such sacrifice and love 100 years ago.
