First Fridays During Lent

9 First Friday and Saturday (beginning March 1st) monthly Prayer Vigils with Mass and Eucharistic adoration for Healing, Reparation of Sins of the Clergy, apostasy, and Restoration of the Church.  Why should we make reparation to God? Four reasons:
1) The Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2412, n. 2487, n. 2454, n. 2509 teaches that every offense committed entails the duty of reparation, even if its author has been forgiven.
2) To repair for our own offences against God,
3) We can also make satisfaction or reparation for thesins of others,
4) God is greatly offended by the vast sins of humanity which are now far greater than the time of Christ. Our Lady of Fatima called for Reparation and she told Sr. Lucia dos Santos, one of the Fatima visionaries, on December 10. 1925, "See, my daughter, my Heart encircled by thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Do you, at least, strive to console me. Tell them that I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the First Saturday of five successive months, go to Confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the ... mysteries of the Rosary."The greatest offering of reparation is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Since Holy Mass is the representation of Christ's infinitely perfect Sacrifice of Calvary, it is one of the best means of offering satisfaction or reparation of God's wrath. In fact, St. Therese of Lisieux said the best reparations she could ever make for sin was attending Holy Mass and worthily receiving Holy Communion in the state of grace [with the intention in your heart of offering up the Mass in reparation for your own sins and the sins of humanity and conversions].
Starting on Friday March 1, 2019, this parish will begin its first Friday and Saturday monthly Vigils of Reparation. You are invited to attend and participate at Mass on Friday and Saturday and to attend Eucharistic adoration and offer penance and prayers for the sins of humanity, for our clergy, and for those who have suffered abuse at their hands, and for the reform of the Church. We can also make reparation for our own sins and family members and pray for their conversion.

We ask for the intercession of Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Sorrows, to intercede on behalf of her suffering children and all her wayward children.

First Friday & Saturday of Reparation begins on March 1st, and continues each month on the First Friday with April 5th, May 3rd, June 7th, July 5th, August 2nd, September 6th, October 4th and November 1st.
